This policy explains what information we collect when you visit tewkesburyhouse.com, what we do with it, and the rights you have over it. It is written to inform, not to protect us.

What we collect
When you download our guide Your first name, last name and email address. That is all we ask for.
When you request a quote or send an enquiry Whatever contact details you provide — typically name, email, phone number and the address of the project — along with details of the work you'd like us to help with.
When you subscribe to our newsletter After downloading the guide, you will be added to our email list. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email.
Information the website collects automatically Like most websites, ours collects some basic technical information:
Your IP address and approximate location
The device, browser and operating system you are using
Which pages you visit and how long you stay
How you arrived at the site (search engine, social media, direct link)
We currently use Squarespace's built-in analytics. We plan to add Google Analytics in the future. When we do, this policy will be updated to reflect that.
How we use it
To respond to your enquiries. If you ask us for a quote, we will get back to you with one. If you have a question, we will answer it.
To deliver our guide and stay in touch. Once you sign up, we send you the PDF and a short series of emails about our work, our process and the projects we are taking on.
To stay in touch with past clients. If you have worked with us before, we may occasionally contact you to share new projects, see how your home is holding up, or ask whether someone you know might be a good fit for our work. You can ask us to stop at any time.
To improve the website. Anonymous technical data helps us understand what is useful and what isn't.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with third parties for their marketing. We do not pass it around.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies. They fall into three categories:
Essential cookies keep the site working — for example, remembering form entries as you move between pages. These cannot reasonably be turned off.
Analytics cookies help us understand how the site is used. Squarespace sets a small number of these by default. Google Analytics will set more when we add it.
Marketing cookies. We do not currently use any.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking everything may break some site functionality.
Who we share information with
We use a small number of trusted third parties to run the business:
Squarespace hosts the website and handles newsletter sign-ups (Squarespace is US-based)
Google Workspace / Gmail is where Rob and Helen receive and respond to enquiries (Google is US-based)
Our CRM stores client and prospect contact details for follow-up and reactivation
Where a provider is based outside the UK, your information may be transferred internationally. These providers operate under recognised UK data protection safeguards.
Beyond this, we will only share your information if:
You ask us to (for example, introducing you to a tradesperson, architect or supplier)
We are required to by law
Project photography
When we complete a project, we may want to photograph the finished work — either ourselves or with a professional photographer — and use those images on our website, in our brochure, on social media and in our portfolio. We may also produce digital renderings using kitchen and interior design software.
The detailed terms covering photography of your home are set out in our Terms of Service and in the contract you sign at the start of any project. We will not publish images that identify your address or any personal details about you without your written permission.
How long we keep your information
Newsletter subscribers — until you unsubscribe, or until you have been inactive for 12 months, whichever comes first.
Enquiries that don't progress to a project — kept for 24 months, in case you come back to us.
Client records — kept for 7 years after a project completes, as required by UK tax law. Your contact details are kept for as long as you are happy to stay in touch.
Website analytics — anonymised technical data is held for up to 14 months.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
See what data we hold about you
Correct anything that is wrong
Delete your data (the "right to be forgotten")
Stop us from processing your data for marketing
Take your data elsewhere (data portability)
Object to how we are using your data
To exercise any of these, email Rob at robert@tewkesburyhouse.com. We will respond within 30 days, usually much sooner.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information. We use established providers — Squarespace, Google — whose security is stronger than anything we could build ourselves. No system is completely secure, but we treat your data with the same care we treat your home.
If a breach ever affects your information, we will tell you what happened and what we are doing about it.
Children
This website is intended for adults. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian before sharing any information with us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will always reflect the current version. If we make significant changes, we will let you know directly.
Questions or complaints
For anything privacy-related, email Robert: robert@tewkesburyhouse.com
If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
