Bespoke Kitchens & Interiors, Handmade in Kent & East Sussex

Tewkesbury House designs, makes and installs bespoke kitchens, bathrooms and whole-house interiors for homes across Kent, East Sussex and the wider South East.

Our work is drawn from the classical tradition of British cabinetmaking — solid timber, oak and stone, considered proportion, and the kind of fine detailing that only comes from a hand on the tool.

Every project is led from first survey to final coat by Robert Tewkesbury, master cabinetmaker, and delivered by a small trusted team carrying his standard through every discipline — carpentry, electrics, plumbing, tiling, plastering, lighting, decorating.

One studio. One signature. From a single kitchen to a whole house reimagined.

How We Work

Five stages, one craftsman, one signature.

Every project we take on follows the same five stages. It's the rhythm we've found gives clients the clearest sense of where they are in the work, and the most room to shape it as it unfolds.

A person's hand holding a yellow and black colored pencil writing on a piece of white paper with handwritten text and a tree sketch.
  • Every project begins with a conversation. A first call to talk through the room, the home, and what you're hoping to do. No pressure, no quote yet — just enough to know whether the work is one we'd be the right studio for.

  • If the project feels like a good fit on both sides, Robert visits the property in person. He'll spend time in the space, understand the architecture, walk through your wishlist, and ask the questions that shape everything that follows.

  • A few weeks later, you'll receive a written proposal — fully itemised, with scope, materials, timeline and investment set out clearly. Honest numbers, no surprises. If the proposal lands, we move into design.

  • This is where the room takes its shape. Robert leads the design phase personally — layout, lighting, materials, finish, all drawn and refined together over four to eight weeks. Up to three rounds of redesign are built in, so the design that's signed off is one you've genuinely shaped.

  • Once the design is signed off, the work begins — first in the workshop, then in your home. Every trade on site is led by Robert and delivered by his team. Carpentry, electrics, plumbing, tiling, plastering, lighting, decorating. One studio, one signature, one phone number from first cut to final coat.

What Our Client Say

"It was clearly evident from the outset that Robert is a Master Craftsman — from his meticulous attention to detail to his tireless pursuit of aesthetic perfection. No detail is too small and no request is ever overlooked."”

Kathryn

“Robert undertook a big project for us — designing, making and installing our new kitchen, bathrooms, utility room, fitted cupboards and French doors. He coordinated this work with our builder who was extending the house. Robert is a perfectionist and his joinery work is outstanding.”

Five gold stars representing a high rating.

Where We Work

Tewkesbury House works across Kent, East Sussex, and the wider South East — from the Surrey Hills through Sussex and into Kent, with most projects within an hour of the studio.
